I am SO glad you’re here!

Welcome to the messy and the finding drops of joy in the midst of the mess!

I have always loved to write…so much so that I have pages and pages and pages of pieces I’ve written and many more word and google docs I’ve started, some I’ve finished and others just have the titles and a sentence or two…

It takes a lot for me to share what I’ve written… a good friend, well, ok, my counselor Steve, encouraged me years ago to start sharing the words God was giving me- he said they needed to be shared. I nodded and told him maybe not…

And then…2020. Talk about messy! So, instead of just mindlessly scrolling the sadness of FaceBook, I realized we all needed to find some joy! So, I began looking around in the ordinary, boring day to day and posting some thoughts and often photos I’ve taken. I called them JoyDrops.

I’d like to think that Steve, who’s now retired, would say, “see Ettema! you’re not a wuss!” This is BIG stuff – sharing my messy! But…Steve was right, my JoyDrops got a lot of Joy thrown at them and maybe sharing them all in one place will help others to see we are not alone in our mess – so here we go!

I plan to share new JoyDrops, “old” JoyDrops and some of my other writings too. My goal is to let you see me… even the messy, silly, sad, and angry- I’ll share the real of it all and how God and I work all that out together! Hopefully, you’ll realize you’re not alone in your mess and that JOY can be found – even if there are just DROPs of it for now…
