JoyDrops

11/26/23

It’s snow season. That means plows and trucks and salt and a LOT of Crazy happening at the farm. My boys, all three of them (my man and our two adult sons) started a snow plow company a few years ago and God has blessed their hard work immensely. But that means- lots of noise in the preparation and L O N G Days. Yesterday was a L O N G day…noise began at 5am Saturday and finally quieted down here at 5am Sunday. . . There was no snow yet, but the yard was full with lots of tall guys in coveralls and gloves, pickups prepped with plows and salt spreaders, noisy diesel engines churning and impact drills whizzing! The first of many L O N G, yard full, barn full, house full moments until Spring.

I am a night owl – so the 5 am hit the pillow doesn’t hit me as hard as it hits my man, but, for a few hours we both slept soundly silent and woke to a fresh winter white blanket on the fields and just a bit of flocking on the trees.

a momentary gift of stillness-

God’s reminder that taking a moment to be quiet freshens our spirit.

Snow quiet melds with yard loud and turns to house quiet…

This morning, the first of many snow quiet mornings this season, brought stillness inside too.

I don’t often find quiet, my mind doesn’t ever seem to shut down, and our crazy loud life reflects that! But this morning, the snow quiet and house quiet are A Gift- time to reflect on life lately, and a moment to hear the Holy Spirit’s nudge to snuggle up and write…
