I will be 58 years old in 4 days. I am from the Sesame Street, Electric Company, Bozo the Clown, Captain Kangaroo, Zoom and Mr. Rogers Era!

I was afraid of A LOT of things growing up. I think, looking back, I must have been full of anxiety but that was a long time ago, and we just called it being a “fraidy cat”. Actually, still to this day, I scare easily! I can laugh at it now, but not always.

Watching Mr. Rogers each day was the most calm I felt. His kind smile, his quiet voice and his encouraging words took me to a place of comfort I only found watching him and being at my Gram’s.

Flash forward 50 years (ummmm… yikes!) and when I’m scare, or don’t understand or see disaster after disaster after disaster happening in our world, I can hear Mr. Rogers calm voice in my head. His kind smile, his quiet voice and his encouraging words still bring comfort when life turns scary… when there are disasters… when I just don’t understand…
